Pendleton Women's Leather Jackets

In 1863, English immigrant Thomas L. Kay trekked across the US to end up in Salem, Oregon. Kay, a weaver by trade, opened his own mill in Salem, which he successfully operated with his daughter and son-in-law, C.P. Bishop. In 1909, the Bishop family took over the operations of a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, and further expanded their company, making wool blankets with Native American patterns. Pendleton Woolen Mills grew out to be the most important manufacturer of woolen blankets in America, eventually branching out to other wool products such as shirts, knitwear, and jackets. Over a century later, Pendleton is still family-owned, with retail stores worldwide. The Oregon-made Pendleton blankets have become a symbol of American craftsmanship and quality, which have led Pendleton to collaborate with fellow Oregonians Nike, as well as Wrangler and Tommy Hilfiger.
