Ikea × Virgil Abloh

Virgil Abloh's Master's degree in Architecture came back through several subtle references throughout his multi-hyphenate career. In 2019, the late designer collaborated with Swedish furniture brand IKEA on a home collection featuring rugs, furniture, bags and home accessories.

The Virgil Abloh x IKEA collection, named MARKERAD, was one of the most coveted IKEA releases to date, with fans around the world lining up to be able to grab one of the limited edition pieces designed by the Off-White and Louis Vuitton designer. The collection featured some of Abloh's classic motifs, such as words in quotation marks and his signature "c/o" label. The standout piece in the collection is the Receipt Rug, which features a fake IKEA receipt on a full-size tapestry.
