H&M × The Weeknd
Canadian pop star The Weeknd first collaborated with Swedish mass-market retailer H&M in March 2017 with an exclusive capsule collection for which he selected his favorite H&M styles. That same year, H&M x The Weeknd returned with an 18-piece collection using different variations of his XO branding on t-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks and jackets. While the Weeknd x H&M collaboration was initially deemed successful, The Weeknd instantly pulled out of the ongoing partnership in 2019 after an H&M webshop image emerged of a black boy in a “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” hoodie. Since then, The Weeknd has released merch through his own website, while previous collaborations with VLONE, Puma and BAPE have also remained popular.
