Seller Description
KENZO HOMME by Roy Krejberg Era — Sculpted-Last Black Calf Brogue Oxfords / Yellow Leather Sockliner / EU 9.5 US 10.5/ Excellent Vintage Condition
A rare survivor from the Roy Krejberg / late Takada-era Kenzo Homme archive (c. late 1990s–early 2000s) — the now-lost chapter when Kenzo's menswear quietly rivaled Yohji, Junya, and Margiela for sculptural craft and remains a known quiet grail among collectors of vintage Japanese-French menswear. Krejberg ran Kenzo Homme from 1999 through 2003, taking the line in a refined, globally-influenced direction before LVMH eventually rerouted the house toward streetwear under different creative leadership. Footwear from this era almost never surfaces — and almost never in this condition.
These are not dress shoes. They're an architectural object. A black box-calf full brogue built on a sharply tapered, sculpted last with a pronounced fiddleback waist — the hand-carved violin-shaped sole arch that signals proper European bench-construction. The medallion broguing across the toe is restrained, almost whispered. Then the inside opens up: a mustard-yellow leather sockliner stitched into a deep oxblood/burgundy leather interior — the kind of hidden two-tone detail that made Kenzo Homme pieces feel handed-down rather than mass-produced.
Made in the European Community (likely Spain or Portugal, where Kenzo's footwear was bench-made during this period). Hard-stamped "KENZO 9½" (10.5 US) into the leather outsole. Inner heel marked "M 094 9½ MADE IN E.C." — the "E.C." designation places these between 1993 and roughly 2009, consistent with the Krejberg era.

These have been lived in lightly indoors only. Uppers are clean, supple, no cracking, no chalking, no creasing fatigue. No scuffs of consequence. Stacked leather sole is fully intact with even, minimal wear — heel block solid, welt stitching unbroken throughout. Yellow leather sockliner is bright and undimmed; the KENZO heel branding is sharp and fully legible. Burgundy interior trim is uncrushed. Laces are original. No box. No shoe bags.
The dealer truth: it is extremely rare to find an archive Kenzo Homme dress shoe in this kind of preserved state. Most surviving pairs have collapsed soles, dried-out uppers, or faded sockliners. These don't.
