Ultimate Rare $2,500 w/tax ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Coveted Military Cargo Pants, Impeccable Details – Handmade In Italy, Tom Ford, Brunello Cucinelli, Purple Label Aesthetic
These are one of the best pairs I have ever owned from any brand. I bought them from an industry friend who told me they were handmade in Italy. Alexander McQueen was new to me, but the house is famous for their tailoring (they just released a video going into their archive showing the lengths they went to achieve these details – one piece had peak lapels you could fold over where they had a hand-stitched slit for the peak to slip through so it balanced the silhouette. In another they had a cool coat with vents perfectly integrated into the back like rain flaps on jackets; you could only see these from underneath).
I loved the complex design, but initially thought it might be a little “excessive" – that all changed as soon as I tried them on. They instantly became my favorite pair of cargo pants with the ideal silhouette! (see fit pic with my daughter)
These are immediately iconic and clearly distinguished itself from the endless throng of other pants out there with the impeccable fit and incredible details/texture throughout.
As you can see from the style reference photos these complex designs can work exceptionally well with everything from casual looks on up to sartorial. They are equally stunning with leather jackets and casual pieces on up to sartorial blazers. They are also perfect to wear on dates.
Even for a longtime TOM FORD fan, Alexander McQueen prices can give one pause until you see the level they take everything to. There’s also a great documentary, McQueen, that showcases his troubled genius. My favorite designer TOM FORD and many others always refer to McQueen as a true, visionary designer and you’ll see why if you see the film. As Tom famously said:
“Menswear is a detail-driven business”
I sold these to a friend as they were getting a little tight. He wore them sparingly too because he loved them, but also put on weight. It’s more than a bit heartbreaking to have to let these rare stunners go!
SIZE NOTE
I’m typically a 34-36 inch waist now depending on the brand and the cut. I’m typically a 30 inch inseam for no break (29 inches at times for boots like with these). These still fit me ideal, just a bit tight in the waist as I put on some weight.
