Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen was founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in 1992. Having been an apprentice on Savile Row and earning a Master's degree from Central Saint Martins, he was almost immediately respected as a designer. His fascination with taboo occasionally landed him in hot water but his talent resonated above any headlines or controversy. McQueen served as the creative director of Givenchy from 1996 to 2001. He was best known for his women’s collections and precisely-cut menswear. When McQueen died in 2010, his creative partner Sarah Burton immediately filled in as creative director of her friend's eponymous brand. In recent years, the brand has seen a lot of success with its low top sneakers.
