Number (N)ine Men's Bottoms
In 1997, Americana-obsessed Takahiro Miyashita began his first label, the much loved Number (N)ine. With influences including Liam Gallagher, Kurt Cobain even George W. Bush, the clothes are awash with Miyashita’s conflicting ideologies--an obession with music, and a distaste for politics.
Miyashita explored themes ranging from a love of Oregon and marijuana, “My Own Private Portland,” (F/W 08), to his the magnum opus “The High Streets,” a case study on detail oriented menswear. Following “A Closed Feeling” (F/W 09), Miyashita left the label citing personal issues.
