Issey Miyake Men's Shirts (Button Ups)
Unlike fellow Japanese fashion icons Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo, Issey Miyake began his career in the 1960’s as a design assistant in Paris. Following his return to Japan in 1970, Miyake set up his own design studio, from which he launched numerous lines--including Pleats Please, and Homme Plisse, and Grailed favorite I.S. Sport.
Apart from his revolutionary work with pleated polyester, Miyake’s tactful combination of European sensibilities with artisanal Japanese aesthetics allowed him to create clothing that defies modern convention.
