Goyard Men's Bottoms
The brand known today as Goyard was originally founded as the House of Martin in Paris in 1792. As one of France’s earliest luxury trunk makers, the brand became a hit amongst the French upper-class. After the brand had been passed down from its creator Pierre-François Martin to Louis-Henri Morel, whose apprentice François Goyard took over the house following Morel’s death in 1852, the name was officially changed to the House of Goyard.
Over 150 years later, Goyard is still known for its leather goods, although it sells more card holders than trunks these days. The Goyard Victoire wallet and Grenelle passport holder have become symbols of wealth the same way the House of Martin boxes were in the 1800s. Some things never change.
