Gosha Rubchinskiy

In just over a decade Gosha Rubchinskiy became arguably the most popular modern Russian designer. His eponymous label debuted in 2008. Influenced by art, youth culture and the fall of the Iron Curtain, Rubchinskiy’s label started as a graphic tee line. In the years that followed, along with some help on the business side from Comme des Garçons, Rubchinskiy grew his namesake into a full clothing line, offering sweatshirts and pants as well. Rubchinskiy has also collaborated with adidas and Kappa.

In 2018, Rubchinskiy came under fire for allegedly requesting lewd photos of a 16-year-old model. Shortly after, Rubchinskiy shuttered his eponymous brand, noting on Instagram that the label was ending “as you've known it.” Rubchinskiy may not be producing new clothing under his eponymous label, but he is working on other projects—like his skateboard brand Paccbet.
