effulgence (stylized in lowercase) is an American streetwear brand founded in 2013 by Stephen Hung. Based in San Francisco, the brand is known for its contemporary take on sportswear, using interesting materials and patterns to reimagine staples. While Hung has been working on effulgence for more than a decade, the real breakthrough came after the release of the effulgence corduroy shorts. Following a classic basketball short design in the same vein as Collect and Select, Eric Emanuel and Just Don, the effulgence shorts used premium materials and designs for a luxury finish. Although effulgence remains a one-person show for Hung, the brand has collaborated with brands like Collect and Select, Erased Project and the Bay Area legends from rap group Hieroglyphics.
