Descente

Takeo Ishimoto founded Descente in 1935 as an Osaka retail store called Ishimoto Shoten. Initially focusing on baseball uniforms, Ishimoto asked Kazuyoshi Nishimura, the first Japanese professional skier, to help develop premium ski gear in 1954. Descente quickly became one of the global frontrunners in ski gear innovation, largely thanks to inventions like the Descente ski pants Demopants and the iconic Descente ski jacket, RWSB. Descente jackets became synonymous with innovation and quality, further exemplified by the 2011 introduction of the Descente Allterrain collection. The premium, functional, waterproof winter parkas and jackets featured no visible seams, laser-cut panels, and welded bonding - bringing the Descente Spirit Mark back to the top of its game. Nowadays, Descente is a multi-sport conglomerate, outfitting runners, skiers, ice-skaters and cyclists. American outdoor brand Marmot is also part of the Descente group.
