A.P.C.

Founded by Jean Touitou in 1987, A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Création) has been at the forefront of “upscale basics” long before it was an exhausted descriptor. By making clothing that were wearable as opposed to conceptual like his fellow Parisians, Touitou set the new standard for style in Paris and beyond. The brand has always created full collections, but the jeans have always had top billing at A.P.C. In the late-’00s when Japanese raw denim became the latest craze in menswear, A.P.C. was ahead of the curve and reaped the benefits of honing its craft for decades. The Petit New Standard jean in particular was a hit that put the brand on the radar of thousands of burgeoning menswear enthusiasts, intersecting with a rise in personal style and fashion blogs. In addition to its consistent mainline products, A.P.C. has also made desirable collaborations with Carhartt, JJJJound and, infamously, Kanye West.
