Fragment Design × Louis Vuitton
While Marc Jacobs already brought a streetwear approach to Louis Vuitton's inaugural ready-to-wear lines in the late 1990s, British designer Kim Jones took it a step further by initiating collaborations with brands like Supreme and Fragment Design during his tenure at the French luxury house. The first of the two streetwear collabs, Louis Vuitton x Fragment Design marked a new era for luxury fashion, combining Hiroshi Fujiwara's monochromatic approach to streetwear with LV's legacy branding.
As expected from minimalist Fujiwara, the Louis Vuitton x Fragment collection showed a predominantly black and gray color scheme with subtle hints of color. After a smaller collaboration in 2016, LV x Fragment expanded in 2017 with a full collection that featured luggage items, t-shirts, knitwear, shirts, accessories and Louis Vuitton x Fragment jackets.
