Timberland 40 Below

Shoemaker Nathan Schwartz bought the Abington Shoe Company and moved it to New Hampshire where it became Timberland in 1973. Timberland's boots, made in reaction to the harsh East Coast winters, became an East Coast staple, with New York City as the undeniable Timberland Mecca. As one of the brand's rarest models, the Timberland Super Boot, also known as "the 40 Below," was first introduced in 1979 to battle the most extreme winters. Fitted with premium, waterproof Krymp Oxide leather, the 40 Below Super Boot had a higher cut, providing more protection against thick layers of snow. The Super Boot was officially re-released in limited numbers in 2022 with a Vibram outsole as part of the brand's Stoop series in New York, making it one of the most sought-after Timbs around.
