Vintage 1992 USA Olympics USPS “Touch the Torch” Sweatshirt

Rare early-1990s USPS “Touch the Torch” Olympic sweatshirt made in connection with the United States Postal Service’s sponsorship of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team.

The USPS sponsored the U.S. Olympic Team during the 1992 Olympic cycle, which included the Winter Games in Albertville and the Summer Games in Barcelona.

Fun fact:
The 1992 Barcelona opening ceremony featured one of the most famous Olympic cauldron lightings ever, when Paralympic archer Antonio Rebollo fired a flaming arrow over the cauldron.

Another interesting detail:
Barcelona 1992 was the first Summer Olympics after the end of the Cold War and featured the debut of the famous USA men’s basketball “Dream Team.”

Condition:
Good vintage condition with natural wear from age. The black fabric has developed a soft faded appearance. The graphics show fading and cracking, especially on the sleeve and tag. Light pilling, lint and general wear may be present. Please review all photos carefully for the exact condition.

This is an uncommon piece of 1992 Olympic memorabilia combining Team USA, USPS branding, vintage American sportswear and strong early-1990s graphic design. The front, back and sleeve graphics make it much more unique than a standard Olympic crewneck.
