This black double-layered pleated skirt comes from Y’s, carrying the black layering, fabric drape, and structured skirt language often associated with the Yohji Yamamoto universe. Rather than being a simple single-layer pleated skirt, it uses two overlapping skirt panels of different lengths to create a silhouette with more depth and visual weight.

The skirt is made from a triacetate and polyester blend, giving the fabric a refined sheen and smooth drape. Compared with cotton or wool pleated skirts, this material feels lighter and more fluid, creating subtle variations of black shadow under light and preventing the surface from looking flat.

The most distinctive feature is the double-layered construction and wide pleats. The outer layer is slightly shorter, forming a clear first silhouette, while the inner layer extends lower to create a staggered hemline. The outer pleats feel sharp and architectural, adding a strong vertical rhythm, while the exposed inner layer brings a softer sense of movement. The result balances structure with fluidity.

Parts of the hem retain a lightly raw, unfinished impression, giving the otherwise clean pleated skirt a quiet Y’s-style deconstructed character. Rather than reading as a traditional school-uniform pleated skirt, this piece feels more mature, layered, and design-oriented.

Tuxedo fabric is a common name given by Yohji Co., Ltd. itself, more accurately de Chine fabric.
de Chine uses sweet and strong lines for dense braiding, which is characterized by a fine texture on the surface.
The braided structure is different from the wool wardar. (Wrinkle gabarle is diagonal tissue, de Chine is plain tissue)
Therefore, the surface of decene is smoother, thinner, and feels smoother than GABA.
The Dehine fabric has higher instantaneous strength and agility and therefore also features a more dynamic movement
When the material moves, the air flows more easily and does not become viscous even when sweating.

In the summer months, de Chine seems more comfortable
Both have textured and relatively easy-to-move material on their surfaces.
