Coveted Rare $7,600 w/tax TOM FORD Cerulean Suede Bomber Jacket, Incredible Colorway and Details, Italy – Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli Aesthetic
– In an interview Tom was asked what his favorite color was. He replied “cerulean” blue.
As you can see from the reference photos he implemented this many times over the years, but they are still vanishingly rare! It’s surprisingly versatile and works incredibly well with just about everything (see extensive photo reference). Brad Pitt caused quite a stir in the menswear world when he was seen wearing a similar one at Silverstone (see photos). I have some similar colorways (see photos) and absolutely love these; they stand out in the best way.
Numerous A-List celebrities have been seen wearing these TF suede bomber jackets. Leave it to Tom Ford to take a timeless classic and render the ultimate spare-no-expense version in one of his best colorways.
I love the chunky branded double-zips, a hidden inner pocket and luxe lining to slip on and off with ease.
These retail for $7,600 w/tax now.
These Tom Ford suede jackets are the height of luxury (I tried just about everything along the way working my way up to these).
GQ said it best:
FROM GQ: The jacket is still the most important part of the outfit. And if money is truly no object, Tom Ford makes holy-grail-level suede jackets so beautiful they bring a tear to the eye. That’s just what the best leather jackets for men do. They make you stand a little taller, speak with a little more conviction, and seem altogether more alluring. They are like the pill Bradley Cooper takes in the movie Limitless, only they unlock genuine cool instead of psychotic ambition. Of course, confidence of that magnitude doesn’t come cheap. These jackets will keep you feeling like your very best self for years and years to come.
Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. And that maxim applies as much to a plain cotton T-shirt as it does a wool barathea tuxedo with all the trimmings. Achieving perfection, of course, is harder than it looks.
“Menswear is a detail-driven business” —Tom Ford
Selling this for a friend. I’m very tempted (as always) to grab it, but am out of room after my fiancee and her daughter moved in. Interestingly when I was in Rome, this size 56 is what they recommended for me during fittings (see photo reference). I’m normally a 50-52 in TF, but I kind of liked a little extra room, comfort and ease of movement. This one fits the same as you can see.
SIZE/FIT NOTE
I'm 6 feet, 194lbs for fit pic reference. I'm typically a comfortable size 50 EU (40 US) and fitted 48 (38 US). My tailor said I’m a natural 21 inch chest, 18 inch shoulder and 25 inch shoulder-to-wrist for fit pic reference. This is a size 56 IT, but works well on me per the note above. See below for measurements.
MEASUREMENTS
Pit-to-pit: approx 23.25 inches
Shoulder-to-shoulder: approx 19 inches
Shoulder-to-sleeve: approx 26.5 inches
Overall length: approx 26 inches from base of collar (angles up in back per design)
