Coveted Extremely Rare $5,000 TOM FORD Brown Field Jacket With Leather Accents & Elevated Design Elements Throughout, Godly Details
I’ve owned probably two dozen of these over the years, all styles and variations, and this rare early spare-no-expense piece is right at the top! It has stunning elevated details throughout that you won’t find on any of the other versions – Tom went crazy on this one! Just the basic versions retail for $4,000 w/tax – this is one ultimate badass version with leather accents throughout! Having worked in the industry, I know at times they create pieces with all these little details that are deemed “too expensive for production” where they are forced to strip back on the production final (yes even TF!)
The details throughout this are Godly:
– The super luxe collar with intricate full leather accents and zip out hood
– The detailed leather closure on each side of the neck.
– The leather accents along the front pockets!
– The leather lined wrist cuffs!
– The intricate detailed placket
– The gleaming oversize branded Tom Ford double zips
– The button flaps at the rear to dial in the fit
– The stunning horn buttons
– The eye-catching subtle sheen throughout the garment
I’m selling this for a friend. I’m super tempted to buy it (just look at those fit pics!), but am out of room as my fiancee and her daughter moved in. Please note the tags were removed. You likely won’t see this again anywhere!
A good field jacket is one of the best time-tested essentials in your entire wardrobe. I worked my way up to lines like Tom Ford and there’s just no substitute. When you have such a time-tested overwhelmingly proven piece like this, an investment like this is worth the money. This piece in all the variations has been seen on pretty much every male celebrity style icon out there.
Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. And that maxim applies as much to a plain cotton T-shirt as it does a wool barathea tuxedo with all the trimmings. Achieving perfection, of course, is harder than it looks.
“Menswear is a detail-driven business”
This is perhaps the most Mr Tom Ford-esque of Mr Ford’s statements. Mr Ford’s dogged commitment to perfectionism is renowned. And details? Well, those are the things that keep said business running. Menswear, after all, has long been ruled by strict conventions, and there are only so many ways you can reinvent a button-down shirt or chinos. Instead, it’s those tiny tweaks and improvements – a mother-of-pearl button here, a well-placed pleat there – that sort the bog-standard from the superior.
