What I love about this wonderful thick leather duffel by Gokey:

This is a true 1970s Gokey duffel, and it shows up exactly how you’d hope—strong, broken-in, and ready for another 5 decades of service. These don’t come around often, and in all my years doing this, I’ve never had one quite like it.

I’ve added a thick moose skin leather handle wrap, secured with pounded copper rivets and two gun-metal snaps. I intentionally left the edge raw and rugged—it just fits the character of the bag. The buckskin tone contrasts beautifully with the deep brown leather and the British tan Abercrombie & Fitch shoulder strap.

Moose leather is something special. It’s incredibly durable, resists cracking (even when wet), and has a feel that you instantly recognize when you pick it up. It’s my favorite leather for a reason.

This bag is heirloom quality and extremely rare.

The size is XL—perfect for a hunting trip, cabin getaway, or a solid week’s worth of gear. It’s not a flashy gym bag—it’s for someone who appreciates rugged, lasting quality.

The leather is thick yet very flexible. I’ve fully reconditioned it, so everything is supple, clean, and ready to go.

It carries a warm, authentic distressed patina that only time can produce.

The shoulder strap is something special—I crafted it from a vintage Abercrombie & Fitch men’s belt. It features heavy-duty gun-metal steel bolt snaps and attaches with moose leather secured by hammered copper rivets and reinforced washers. The consistent width across the strap means no slipping pads or adjusting—just solid comfort.

Inside, you’ll find the vintage Gokey’s St. Paul Minnesota white and green tag—a great reminder of when things were made right the first time.
