Antique German Alpacca cigarette case with engraved dedication, dated 1934
A handsome antique cigarette case made in Germany from Alpacca metal (nickel silver alloy). The case features a subtle hammered finish, elegant linear borders, and an oval cartouche engraved with the monogram “H.B.” on the front.
Inside, the original presentation engraving reads “Dem besten Schützen” (“To the best marksman”) and is dated 10.5.34., making this a charming commemorative keepsake from pre-war Germany. Originally used for carrying cigarettes, today it also makes a wonderful collectible, display piece, or gift for lovers of antique smoking accessories and personal history.
The case has a pleasing aged patina and honest signs of time. It closes, though not very tightly, so this is best described as a collectible antique rather than everyday-use storage.
