There are truly special pieces that come along once in a lifetime – this is one of them!

The Un Jour is Berluti’s most iconic briefcase and this ultra-rare, made-to-order version in full Alligator / Crocodile is one of the most striking pieces I’ve ever seen! It just “makes” any outfit you pair it with (see my photos holding it). Even better, this has Berluti’s world-famous artisan hand patina applied for their signature coveted burnishing.

Everyone knows the exclusivity, rarity and price of these rare exotics (the Hermes Birkin versions can go for up to $400,000!). There is absolutely no mistaking the real thing compared to the cheap embossed versions (see reference).

As much of a diehard TOM FORD fan as I am, BERLUTI quality is just unreal. My tailor agreed and she has worked on everything! She couldn’t believe the craftsmanship and attention to detail. She shortened the sleeves a touch on a Berluti suede jacket for me and told me inside it had four layers going on. Even more unbelievable, she said where most brands cut corners in places people would never view, Berluti actually went the extra mile and ADDED details no one will ever see! We found this again opening up a quilted puffer section I wanted her to slim down and it had four levels and layers of stitching inside one simple quilted panel! BERLUTI have been around since 1895 and are world famous for their hand burnished patina on their shoes. It’s become a signature of quality, often imitated, but no one can match their skill and execution. Here they’ve applied this stunning patina to this rare alligator classic Un Jour briefcase. I can only imagine the endless hours of elbow grease that went into creating this masterpiece (evident in the price). It will continue to develop a personal patina with wear that looks rugged and masculine.

Of course no detail is left unconsidered. It is rendered in the finest materials and hardware available, along with their signature “scritto” detailing inside. BERLUTI rewards those with an eye for detail.

Selling this for an industry friend. It would be a dream to add this to my collection, but the exclusivity and price put it out of reach.
