A photobook by Gus Van Sant, with stitched-in film script format pages of his own film series for Gucci, co-directed with Alessandro Michele.

The end papers are illustrated by Van Sant with beautiful figurative watercolours.

This exclusive limited edition book was published to mark Gucci’s unveiling of a seven-part mini-series, OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended.
The short films – which are all co-directed by Gus Van Sant and Alessandro Michele – were part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 season, with each one acting as a runway replacement during the pandemic.

There are several big-name cameos throughout the short film series and featuring in this book including one – focused on Harry Styles. The episode, titled At The Post Office, saw the musician have a heated phone discussion about the nature of art, while wearing denim cut-offs and a baby pink t-shirt. “It’s about finding the thing you’ve always wanted to see, or you've always wanted to listen to, that has never been made,” purrs the singer down the phone (in the clip, he is speaking to Italian art critic Achille Bonito Oliva).
