Ultimate New $8,200 w/tax TOM FORD Black Channel Quilted Cafe Racer Biker Jacket, Godly Details – Made In Italy
As a collector for years, all Tom Ford jackets are rare; especially these truly stunning quilted cafe racer jackets. He made a few versions over the years, but this is by far the best! It has just the right level of detail for visual interest without being over the top. I discovered the same thing with TOM FORD boots; once you have the basic black leather, you find this added texture and detail really elevate things to the next level. Tom talks about this often, especially on the runway and at night on dates where these catch the light and really stand out in the best way. Of course TOM FORD sold the company years ago and is moving back into film, so these originals will only become more desirable and valuable!
The details throughout this are unreal; Tom really outdid himself on this finding the perfect balance. It rewards those who appreciate this with the elevated zips, stitching and adjusters at the waist. And one of my absolute favorite elements, his oversized chunky branded double-zips! (I wish he put these on everything, but they are very rare on his jackets!) It’s the ultimate rockstar badass look when money is no object!
GQ said it best: And if money is truly no object, Tom Ford makes holy-grail-level suede jackets so beautiful they bring a tear to the eye. That’s just what the best jackets for men do. They make you stand a little taller, speak with a little more conviction, and seem altogether more alluring. They are like the pill Bradley Cooper takes in the movie Limitless, only they unlock genuine cool instead of psychotic ambition. Of course, confidence of that magnitude doesn’t come cheap. These jackets will keep you feeling like your very best self for years and years to come.
Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. And that maxim applies as much to a plain cotton T-shirt as it does a wool barathea tuxedo with all the trimmings. Achieving perfection, of course, is harder than it looks.
“Menswear is a detail-driven business” —Tom Ford
Selling this coveted new without tags piece for a friend who held onto it hoping he could get down to fit it one day, but he said it’s just not going to happen. As always, it’s tempting to grab it, but I’m out of room after my fiance and her daughter moved in.
SIZE NOTE
I'm 6 feet, 194lbs for fit pic reference. I'm typically a comfortable size 50 EU (40 US) and fitted 48 (38 US). In Tom Ford I’m typically a 50-52, and a very fitted 48. My tailor said I’m a natural 21 inch chest, 18 inch shoulder and 25 inch shoulder-to-wrist for fit pic reference.
I always caution people that TF sizing can be all over the place (I’ve even shown photos overlaid with up to four sizes apart that match exactly or within .5 inches). The sizes are a helpful guide, but I always go by measurements. This is a tag size 54IT, but as you can see from the fit pics, it fits me well! See below for measurements.
MEASUREMENTS
Pit-to-pit: approx 21 inches
Shoulder-to-shoulder: approx 19 inches
Shoulder-to-sleeve: approx 27 inches
Overall length: approx 26 inches in back from base of collar (angles up in back about an inch per design)
