A note on fit: these are true-to-size but tight US 12 without the insole (or with replacement thin insole instead of the padded version that comes with the shoe). With the insole they are US11-11.5 maybe. The rubber band across vamp is a design feature that is also functional in that it covers the distressing that normally occurs on the vamp keeping the shoe appearing new even after use.
