This vest is crafted from indigo-dyed snow pattern kasuri cotton, a textile highly regarded among collectors of vintage Japanese fabric and traditional Japanese textiles.

The fabric is believed to have been woven during the Taisho to early Showa period (early 20th century). Originally used in rural Japanese garments, cotton fabrics like this developed their distinctive character through years of everyday use. Over time, the indigo dye matures into deep and varied tones, creating a richness that modern fabrics rarely replicate.

The textile features slightly larger snow pattern kasuri motifs, a classic geometric design created through traditional Japanese resist-dye weaving techniques.
