Best Dressed Very Rare $4,100 w/tax TOM FORD Elevated Moleskin Leather Accent Jacket, Incredible Details, Made In Italy
An elevated timeless design like this soft moleskin jacket from TOM FORD is one of the best time-tested essentials in your entire wardrobe.
This is a very rare moleskin version with elevated details and leather accents throughout (compared to the similar brushed cotton ones which were cheaper, more stripped back and plain):
– The extended leather tab closure at the collar
– The extended tab / tonal hardware snap at the base of the main zip
– The tonal leather trimmed pockets
– The inner pocket with tonal trims
– The luxe lining to slip on and off with ease
– The dark tonal branded snaps at the wrist
– The intricate stitching and back of the neck pattern
– My favorite design element, the signature leather grab handle at the back of the neck in tonal brown with layered leather underneath.
“The Italians know the power of browns.”
It’s been said the Italians “know the power of browns” in their wardrobe and it’s so true – adding tonal browns into your wardrobe can look effortlessly stylish. Having spent a few weeks this summer traveling the length of the country, I can attest to this – you saw it everywhere in Italy. You can go tonal or add contrast with darks and lights and it all looks amazing.
It has the ideal cropped/fitted TF silhouette that no other brands can replicate.
This is Tom’s upscale luxury take on elevated classic workwear – you can easily see Paul Newman or Steve McQueen wearing a piece like this! Nothing else has this perfect design aesthetic and fit!
It can be styled so many ways that all look effortlessly cool (see extensive photo reference). As you can see this works equally well dressed up, or down with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
I worked my way up to lines like Tom Ford and there’s just no substitute. I’m selling this for a friend, but I have it as well and love it!
Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. And that maxim applies as much to a plain cotton T-shirt as it does a wool barathea tuxedo with all the trimmings. Achieving perfection, of course, is harder than it looks.
“Menswear is a detail-driven business”
This is perhaps the most Mr Tom Ford-esque of Mr Ford’s statements. Mr Ford’s dogged commitment to perfectionism is renowned. And details? Well, those are the things that keep said business running. Menswear, after all, has long been ruled by strict conventions, and there are only so many ways you can reinvent a button-down shirt or chinos. Instead, it’s those tiny tweaks and improvements – a mother-of-pearl button here, a well-placed pleat there – that sort the bog-standard from the superior.
While I’ve owned many high end jackets over the years, nothing else reaches the level of Tom Ford. This is our top designer’s take on a timeless classic.
