1 of 1 In the World $5700 DUNHILL Lamb / Loro Piana Cashmere Moto Archive Jacket in British Racing Green, Insane Details, Made In Paris – Tom Ford, Brunello Cucinelli, Saint Laurent Aesthetic
Years ago I was in the right place / right time and purchased a couple coveted pieces from the personal archive of someone at Dunhill (a brand that comes up often in conversation as a favorite of many TOM FORD collectors like myself). The second was this incredible one-off archive moto jacket produced for a special runway show that was deemed “too expensive for production”.
Rendered in British Racing Green Lambskin with Loro Piana Cashere lining, it’s a “money is no object” modern take inspired from their motoring archive (at the time the brand was flush with corporate investment and this upscale British brand’s roots began in motoring accessories). I absolutely love this and have kept it despite collecting many high end pieces from TOM FORD, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Cucinelli and more…I hate to part with it, but I’ll let it go for the right buyer who appreciates this and how special it it (read below).
THE DETAILS:
Made in Paris. The material is a Bodin Joyex lambskin bonded to Loro Piana Cashmere.
This masculine, luxury leather biker jacket was produced for Dunhill in a small quantity by an artisan Parisian manufacturer. There was another one created in brown, but this British Racing Green is unreal and attracts tons of compliments.
Each garment took 2 full days to construct including the light padding at the elbows and zip openings at the cuffs. Please note there are no labels attached to the garment because it’s a one-off show sample, but it does include branded zip pulls and press studs. The quality speaks for itself – it’s a truly stunning, unique piece.
I had the sleeves shortened to more of a “Hedi Slimane” length to showcase your watch and/or wrist wear and look a little more rock ‘n’ roll.
The retail value converted from British pounds to US dollars at the time was just under $5700.
Price firm due to extreme rarity, but will consider close offers.
