The A-List Celebrity Ultra-Rare $16,000 w/tax TOM FORD MTO Alligator Double Monk Strap Shoes, Made In Italy, Godly Details, Size 11, Alex Rodriguez Owns and Loves These.

All TOM FORD is rare, but every now and then he takes things stratospheric to the realm like these ultra-rare, coveted shoes. These are only available now made-to-order and the prices keep going up!

Tom used real exotic skins in his early collections (confirmed by my cobbler with over 30 years experience in Malibu servicing elite shoes from around the world; these are the best quality from the premium smooth underbelly). Now they are only MTO (see my photo of the pair they showed me at the Madison Ave. flagship store). I have both the newer “croc effect” ones and other real ones, and there’s just no comparison (see photos).

The prices on these were insane:
– TF alligator boots were over $16,000 (see GQ Alex Rodriguez article in photos)
– burnished alligator boots were over $19,000 before tax (see reference)
– even the sneakers were over $10,000 w/tax

Guys, we all know the first thing women look at / judge you by is your shoes. You can easily keep replacing the custom protective soles to make these last for a long time.

Tom has said he loves designing in black because you are forced to the very essence of the piece – the silhouette, the material and most of all, the texture. Texture is what makes these pieces stand-out on dates and at night with the lighting – nothing telegraphs like alligator / crocodile (see extensive photos). I love that it’s still understated, but refined, and everyone knows the elite price it commands.

Tom Ford shoes are just incredibly sexy – it’s what Tom is famous for! Tom got his degree in architecture from Parsons and notes that his shoes are like architecture – they can stand on their own, you have to get the proportions just right, the balance of the heel to the toe, the slope, etc.

A favorite anecdote Tom shared was being a child around age 4 having gotten a new pair of shoes and obsessing about the shape of the toe being “wrong” by a couple millimeters. He said “perfectionism is almost an illness with me”, but it’s why he’s the ultimate designer for me and why I’ve upgraded nearly my entire wardrobe to his line. I’ve been fortunate to have owned and tried most all the elite brands and have decided I want to live in Tom Ford.

Selling these for a friend. They have very minimal wear because he was so protective of them (you can see from the heels). He invested extra in having a master cobbler with over 30 years experience add protection so they will last longer. You can easily keep these going for many years to come just replacing this. He even followed the natural fiddleback of the design; a perfectionist artisan touch that would make Tom proud.
