Little is known about the Steiner brand, apparently it’s a European label located somewhere near / in Austria or Germany. At some point Steiner bought a few copyright designs from “Mental Hats / Mental Headgear” a ski hat brand based in the USA mostly active in the mid to late 90s. The spike beanies pictured are one of those purchased designs.

Then sometime just around the 2000s Steiner also bought out “Serious Designs”, another ski hat company based in the UK also making funky hats and helmet covers. Steiner subsequently started producing the original Mental Hats and Serious designs under their new Serious (by Steiner) sub label in more sizes and unseen colours before eventually stopping production all together.
