Large Vintage Soviet Enamel Powder Compact – “The Bronze Horseman”, 1970s
Impressive large vintage powder compact produced in the 1970s by the Soviet factory Lenemolier.
The lid features the iconic image of The Bronze Horseman — the equestrian monument of Peter the Great in Saint Petersburg, a powerful symbol of Russian imperial history and classical art.
The compact is made of nickel silver (melchior) with colored enamel decoration. The detailed metalwork, decorative side panels, and hand-applied enamel give this piece a strong visual presence and collectible character.
The mirror is in excellent vintage condition, clear and undamaged. The compact opens and closes properly. Overall condition is very good vintage, with light surface wear consistent with age. There is one very small chip on the enamel, barely noticeable, and two tiny chips on the blue enamel insets, which do not affect display or use.
A wonderful addition to a collection of vintage powder compacts, Soviet-era collectibles, or decorative vanity items — and also suitable for practical use.
