Here is the standard issue Imperial Japanese Army summer tunic worn in WW2.

These were worn in every Pacific Battle from Guadalcanal to Okinawa.

This tunic is made of cotton with brown bakelite buttons.

This one is cut for summer use with a permanent vent under each arm pit and another vent just below with a flap that opens and closes with a green button.

It also has a loop on the left hip which passes through the hole in the center of the bayonet frog. Since suspenders were not worn in the IJA, having the bayonet loop there helped support the heavy leather belt with ammo pouches worn around the waist and kept the bayonet in a uniform position.

On the interior left front there is a pocket for carrying the Japanese Army Enlisted Identification book.

This tunic is well marked in Japanese indicating size Large. It is dated Showa 18 (1943) and is marked from the Tokyo Depot.
