💡 Brand History – Maison Margiela / MM6
Maison Margiela was founded in 1988 in Paris, France by Martin Margiela, a Belgian designer born in Genk in 1957. Margiela is known as one of the most enigmatic and revolutionary figures in fashion, embracing anonymity (rarely photographed) and deconstruction as an art form. He redefined garments by exposing seams, reusing vintage materials, and challenging fashion norms. In 1997, the house introduced MM6, a more casual and street-ready line that retains the avant-garde spirit but is more wearable for everyday life. All MM6 items are crafted with the same attention to detail and conceptual thinking that define the Maison.
