Rag & Bone “Standard Issue” Trainer – Low Top Canvas (2014 Production Model)
Men’s Size: US 11 / EU 44
Made in Japan
In 2014, Rag & Bone of New York launched its in-house men’s footwear division with the introduction of the “Standard Issue” collection — a line of utilitarian shoes designed for everyday wear, built with quality, restraint, and function in mind. These were not outsourced or licensed styles, but fully proprietary models developed for long-term use and timeless appeal.
Offered here is a low top production model from that inaugural season — a standout example of the brand’s early footwear offering, now available from a private collection.
Based on a 1960s-era gym trainer still manufactured today, this silhouette delivers proven comfort, strength, and simplicity — updated with subtle refinements and superior materials.
Key Features:
Upper: Traditional “gym” canvas — breathable, durable, and rooted in athletic heritage.
Sole: Made using a direct injection process, permanently fusing the rubber sole to the upper. This method eliminates the need for glue, avoiding delamination and giving the shoe a clean, long-lasting construction.
Lining: Lightweight, moisture-absorbent cotton for breathable, all-day comfort.
Laces: Cotton, athletic-inspired.
Commercial Release: This low top model was part of the limited range commercialized and sold in 2014. Offered here with its original box, it has been carefully preserved by a private collector and remains in outstanding condition.
Originally intended to retail for approximately $325, this shoe represents a blend of function, aesthetic clarity, and rare early Rag & Bone craftsmanship. Ideal with denim, fatigues, or casual tailoring.
