- This is an antique Freemason's Knight Templar Frock Coat
- Coat was made by The Lilley Co. somewhere between the mid 1910s to late 1920s.
- Fits like Mens Small, on slimmer side of mens small.

Ok folks this is a crazy one. I have a collection of antique Masonic / Knights Templar / Secret Society uniforms and regalia. Yes, like THOSE Masons, like actual full on Freemasons. I purchased this from the estate of a deceased Freemason member. We are only now just seeing more of these kinds of garms pop up as freemasons die off and their lodges close- and I must say, its quite difficult to find info about pieces from these societies due to theirs uh *secretive* nature and incredibly confusing history.

Ok so now about this piece: This coat was made by The Lilley Co (AKA The M.C Lilley Co.), while all of my other jackets were made by The Petitbone Bros. The Lilley Co. were based in Columbus, Ohio and they produced uniforms for the military, secret societies and also made costumes. Another jacket I got from this estate is tagged with the date 1922, Id wager this is from the same period. From 1870 to 1910, 20% of American men were part of a fraternal organization. A newspaper snippet from 1890 reported that The Lilley Co. were one of the 5 largest clothing manufacturers in the world, thanks to some serious military contracts and the sheer volume of fraternal regalia they produced.

This jacket belonged to a “J.W. Frazier”. The paper tag on the inside is degrading and will likely get worse, but I can make out that it says “Location: Council Bluff” - so I believe this member belonged to the Bluff City Lodge #71 which was chartered in 1855. You can still join them today lol.

This jacket is outfitted with Knights Templar patches on the ends of the sleeves, I believe these crosses are reserved for the eminent commander position of the Masonic Knights Templars. Coat has a military style strap on the right shoulder, and has a mandarin style collar.

Custom Tagged size - In my opinion, item fits somewhere around a Mens Small, on slimmer side of mens small. Suitable for equivalent womens sizes.
