1999 Artisanal Upcycled Duvet Coat + Cover

LEGENDARY coat, most of these reside in museums and private collections. This particular jacket with the floral/checkered cover has yet to be shown (till now). This cover + set seems to be a one of one as most of the vintage covers were.

This is NOT the silly H&M version, this is the original that they copied. There was no runway this season, only a VHS presentation where the video was shot. Footage is very rare. The puffer was made from a vintage Italian bedding manufacturer FeatherLite down duvet. The cover is from a vintage 1970’s French duvet/bedding sheet cover. You skip the duvet in like an envelope there’s videos on YouTube of it.

The jacket was famously documented in the March issue of the New York Times photographed by Bill Cunningham the next year of all the stylish people of New York wearing them out.

Condition: used vintage, some marks over age and from the original vintage blankets/duvets. Haven’t tried cleaning as it’s part of the vintage piece I feel. The left arm zipper is a bit bent, it still works alright but be careful or just don’t take the arm off.
