For sale is this rare prototype from the spring/summer 2010 Helmut Lang collection by Nicole Colovos and Michael Colovos, who served as the artistic directors of Helmut Lang from 2006 to 2014.

This is a prototype acquired directly at the design studio back in 2010 in Chelsea, New York City.

The zipper used for this prototype is the infamous, amazing and perfectly chunky M8 model made by the zipper-manufacturer in Switzerland called Riri which produces some of the finest zippers in the world.

The condition is 10 of 10.

It has an incredibly intricate construction/pattern, which makes it quite a special piece because of the beautiful craftsmanship involved.
The complex construction/pattern is probably also the reason why it never made it to production as the manufacturing costs would ultimately reflect too heavily on the retail price. But that is just my personal guess.

The silhouette is slightly oversized.

Being a prototype it is naturally completely tagless.

The fabric is 100% cotton.

In my personal opinion it is my best estimate that the size is somewhere between an Italian size 46 and a size 48 and even a small size 50. I am personally a size 48 in pretty much all jackets, and this fits me perfectly.

Due to the unique construction/pattern around the shoulders/sleeves it is rather difficult to know where I should measure the shoulders from, for example, or the armpit. However please see these approximate measurements of the garment laying flat:

Shoulder to shoulder: 52 cm.
Armpit to armpit: 67 cm.
Shoulder to end of sleeve: 62 cm.
Armpit to end of sleeve: 54 cm.
Top of the back to the end of the garment: 71 cm.
