From Dior Homme’s Fall/Winter 2006 “These Grey Days” collection, designed by Hedi Slimane.

Inspired by traditional French eveningwear, this runway tailcoat combines classic tuxedo tailoring with Hedi Slimane’s signature elongated, slim-fitting silhouette. The dramatic cutaway front and extended back reinterpret the proportions of traditional formalwear. Similar eveningwear designs from this collection were featured throughout the runway show and fashion editorials.

Crafted from 100% wool with satin peak lapels and a cupro lining. Features six symmetrical fabric-covered buttons at the front, a sharply curved cutaway hem, and an elongated tailcoat silhouette measuring 106cm at the back. Multiple back seams create a sharply tailored waist, while two buttons at the rear waist and three fabric-covered buttons on each cuff complete the traditional formalwear details.
