2001 Konami Metal Gear Solid 2 Promotional Tactical Vest

An original Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty promotional tactical vest, purchased in 2001 at Konami's headquarters on Bondegatan in Stockholm, Sweden.

Created to promote the 2001 release of Hideo Kojima's groundbreaking PlayStation 2 title Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, this vest is a distinctive piece of early-2000s video game memorabilia - EU Exclusive.

Rather than using a conventional promotional garment, the vest is based on a military-inspired utility design, featuring a high collar, multiple cargo pockets and adjustable details. The original black vest has been customized with official Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty branding, including a logo on the left chest pocket flap and a large print across the upper back.

Its connection to Konami's Swedish headquarters gives the piece particularly interesting provenance, offering a glimpse into the promotional merchandise surrounding one of the PlayStation 2 era's most influential releases.

An unusual piece of gaming history that combines functional military-inspired outerwear with early-2000s video game culture. Particularly appealing to collectors of Metal Gear Solid, Konami memorabilia, archival gaming merchandise and Y2K military fashion.
