Seller Description
Hiromichi Nakano established his eponymous label in 1984 after studying at the Kuwasawa Design School and working with Nicole. Known for blending traditional tailoring with casual subcultural influences and utilitarian motifs, Nakano was a prominent fixture of the Tokyo fashion circuit throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. This piece exemplifies late 1990s Japanese casual deconstruction through its woodland camouflage trim, single-button placket, and exposed outer serged seams on a blue waffle-knit body. While archival garments from Nakano are relatively scarce outside of Japan, they remain an accessible entry point for collectors of vintage Ura-Hara and Japanese designer apparel.
