This piece is a contemporary anime bootleg produced by the underground streetwear label Diffclass, celebrating Hideaki Anno's legendary 1995 series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its 1997 film The End of Evangelion. The front features the iconic climactic beach sequence of Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley Soryu, while the reverse showcases an artistic arrangement of Rei Ayanami figures inspired by Philippe Halsman's iconic skull illusion. Rather than using modern mass-market blanks, the graphic was screen-printed onto a true vintage single-stitch Stanfield's Cotton Basics shirt manufactured in Truro, Nova Scotia.
