Vollebak's original reversible Graphene Jacket from 2018 in excellent used condition. Waterproof, lightweight, wind resistant, and reversible. Worn less than a dozen times. I checked the graphite lining and other than the a small part of the waist band where the elastic band cinched the lining, that's the only real wear I could detect. I did try to photograph it.

When we launched the world’s first Graphene Jacket our aim was simple – to increase the speed at which we bring intelligent clothing into existence by getting graphene out of the lab and into the world by opening up our R&D process.

As the lightest, strongest and most conductive material in the world, graphene is the logical building block on which intelligent clothing will be based. While clothes have been used for the same basic things over the last 50,000 years – to stay warm, dry, cool and alive – over the next 5 to 50,000 years we will start to use clothing for mental and physical enhancement. And given it combines almost zero mass with superhuman strength, graphene will be central to that story.

So rather than waiting 10 years to get into people’s hands, we decided to go early and see what happened. The Graphene Jacket 1 is an experimental prototype – a lightweight, waterproof jacket that’s fully reversible, with one side coated in graphene and the other not.

We knew that getting graphene out of the lab would help us discover things no-one had tested. And out in the mountains of Nepal Nikita Gushchin used the graphene side of his jacket like a solar sail to turn it into a life-saving device. While over in the Gobi desert Dr Grant Holley became the first to discover what happens when you tie your jacket around a camel to keep warm at night.
