They have been safely stored away in a shoe rack for the last 23 years. The structural condition is incredible for their age, and the rubber is perfectly intact.Prototype Status: This rare pair is highly likely to be one of the very first prototypes or earliest samples produced during the legendary Spring/Summer 2004 "Mainstream-Downstream" transition period. A museum-tier piece for serious archive fashion curators.Authenticity: The dark leather insole features the original embossed "Carol Christian Poell" signature. This is a 100% authentic early production piece from the Milan workshop.Patina: Beautifully aged vintage archive condition. The original object-dyed industrial orange heavy canvas has developed an incredible, uneven burnt-tan patina over the last 20+ years. Frayed raw edges and distressed elements are completely deliberate and part of Poell's signature brutalist aesthetic.Construction & Details: Features the rare, early vulcanized continuous black rubber band wrapping the sole, a solid black leather toe cap, and robust original YKK metal zippers on the inner sides. Zippers run smoothly. The bottom features the authentic early CCP wavy herringbone pattern with honest vintage wear but absolutely no structural splits.Sizing: The insole is firmly glued to the base as it came from the atelier (preserved exactly as it should be).
