For sale is a rare Stone Island Shadow Project Transformable Messenger Bag, produced in collaboration with BAGJACK in Germany for the 5219 collection in 2010. This particular bag is New Old Stock and has never been used. It has been stored since new and remains in exceptional, unused condition. Over the years, I have owned more than 10 Messenger Bags from BAGJACK, ACRONYM and Stone Island Shadow Project. Among them, this has always been the piece I considered the most special. I kept it stored in my archive rather than using it, mainly because of its exceptional combination of materials. The use of external mesh is especially reminiscent of Stone Island’s iconic Mesh Jacket constructions.

The Transformable Messenger is THE key accessories from the early Shadow Project collections. Developed with Berlin-based bag specialists BAGJACK, the design takes the Bagjack messenger bag and turns it into a multi-purpose carrying system. The bag can be transformed between a messenger bag, hand/briefcase-style carry and backpack configuration.

The construction combines Cordura®, polyester mesh, reflective nylon, leather and PVC, resulting in a piece that is characteristic of the early Shadow Project approach to functional design.
