In 1815, after the birth of the alliance between the British Army and the Nepalese Kingdom of Gorkha, the Brigade of Gurkhas was established, and the Gurkha trousers quickly followed. These military pants, which were named after the Nepalese Gurkha soldiers who had earned the respect of the British East India Company in 1814, were created as a part of the official uniform adorned by Gurkha soldiers that had been recruited by the British Army.
