For sale here is a cotton button down shirt from Undercover. This one comes from the spring-summer 2013 collection. Undercover is perhaps best known for their high quality designs, combined with a very strong graphic sensibility and punk rock ethos. This shirt is a great example of both Undercover’s strong graphic sense and high quality design.

The material here is a blue cotton in standard shirt weight. The main twist comes in the patterning, where there are all kinds of disparate and intentionally exposed seams here. The seams do not follow typical shirt patterns at all actually. This is maybe most visible on the back, where you have an intentionally crooked, diagonal back seam. The same idea applies to the rest of the shirt. For good measure a middle finger is embroidered on the front, one of UC’s design signatures that was introduced this season. This season also heavily referenced the band the Talking Heads, adding in their song lyrics on little patches here and there. The song lyric patch is present here too, although for some reason Undercover reference Moonlight Drive by the Doors rather than the Talking Heads. This design was only available for the 2013ss season, and these pieces have become increasingly rare. Get it here at a fraction of the retail price.

Size is labeled a 3 and the fit is like a standard medium. I measure the chest at 20.5” / 51cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, length at 29” / 74cm, and sleeves at 26” / 66cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
