Cut from coarse, unbleached homespun linen or hemp and assembled from whatever cloth and hardware were at hand. A 1946 Soviet 20-kopek coin was pierced and repurposed as a button — currency reduced to pure function. The irregular weave, crude construction and time-worn surface give them the presence of a recovered relic, austere and shaped by necessity.
