Seller Description
Vintage Tricker’s Bourton Country Brogues, handmade in Northampton, England.
One of the defining silhouettes of traditional English shoemaking. Tricker’s was founded in Northampton in 1829 and is regarded as one of the originators of the heavy English country brogue. The Bourton remains one of the house’s signature models to this day.
This pair is an older Royal Warrant-era example in beautifully aged brown / earthy roughout suede, with a much more irregular and characterful surface than a new pair. Heavy wingtip broguing, exposed storm welt, leather lining, metal eyelets and traditional leather soles.
The Bourton is built as a substantial country Derby rather than a lightweight dress shoe — wide proportions, heavy brogue punching and extremely robust welted construction.

BOURTON
11-5
Size: UK 11
Width fitting: 5
Approx. EU 45 / US 12
Tricker’s Bourton is traditionally associated with the generous 4444 last; current Bourtons in fitting 5 are made on this last and Tricker’s advises that it runs approximately half a size large.
Beautiful naturally developed patina throughout the suede. The nap has darkened and polished in high-wear areas, creating an almost distressed / object-dyed appearance. This is genuine wear and ageing rather than an artificial treatment.
Original leather soles show wear but retain substantial life. Heel rubber sections are intact. Interior shows normal wear from use. Please examine all photographs for condition.
A particularly good pair for anyone into traditional Northampton shoemaking, artisanal footwear, heritage menswear and high-end leather shoes.
