Vintage Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies T-shirt.

Sophisticated Ladies was a Broadway musical revue based on the music of Duke Ellington, originally opening at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York in 1981.

This T-shirt features the Art Deco style illustration used on the original program artwork, with the piano keys, elegant figures, and red/gold “Sophisticated Ladies” lettering on a navy body.

A great piece combining jazz, Broadway, Art Deco design, and 80s vintage T-shirt culture.

The tag is missing, but the shirt has single-stitch construction on the sleeves and hem.
Based on the print, body, and construction, this is most likely an original 1980s piece.
