The Backstory & Wear:
These were originally sourced directly from the J.M. Weston flagship boutique on Madison Avenue. Fresh off his Oscar win for Mystic River, Tim Robbins wore this exact pair for a high-profile photo shoot. Because they picked up a minor scuff during the shoot, the boutique couldn't sell them as brand-new retail inventory, and they were gifted directly to my friend who worked at the store.
Interestingly, I've never even been able to find the scuff myself. In the over 30 years since, they have been worn a maximum of 30 times—maybe just once a year. The leather has been meticulously preserved and remains in incredible shape.
